The City of Rubble

Kai walked along one of the cobblestone streets, looking to his left and right at the rubble. He could see sparks of light, mostly in neon colors flashing from within the rubble. He sighed, viewing the small cloud that came out of his mouth. It was cold out, not too cold, but he wasn't wearing a shirt today, it was at the dry cleaners. He heard shuffling from behind and held out his Katana, not knowing what to expect.

"I am quite sure there is no need for violence, so please, relax." Taking a step back at the sight of the weapon, the crimson cloaked figure sighed softly. It was his first time on the world that had once been known as Twilight Town; of course bad luck had insured that his spatial rift would place him behind an armed individual. It hadn't even been his typical soundless appearance, either...that was the reward of growing careless, however. "My name is Jinzou Kitai," he offered, not wanting to offend the other neko. Realizing that seeing another of his own race might coerce the man to lowed his blade, Jinzou pushed his hood back, smiling a bit. "Leader of the group so bluntly named the Heroes."

Kai looked at the other Neko curiously while he spoke, and at the mention of the words 'leader' and 'heroes' his expression lightened dramatically. "Ah, so you're a potential employer, eh?" He said with a smile, extending his hand to shake while using his tail to sheath his blade once more. "My name is Kai, and I'm the leader of the only mercenary band around."

"Oh?" Jinzou shook the other neko's hand, thinking as he did so; he didn't remember meeting anyone else from that particular band, although he didn't exactly claim to know everyone who ever was, or would be. "A potential employer? What kind of services do you offer?" He grinned, noting that it was probably as obvious as it seemed; the man carried a katana after all, so it seemed likely that they weren't exactly the mercenaries of ending a conflict with kind words and a smile...

"Well, to put it simply - We do everything. If you want a more detailed response, then just ask. But the simple one usually suffices. The only exception is that we aren't whores, so don't expect to get that kind of a job out of most of our members. Some might be willing to do it, but most aren't - we have families or loved ones." Kai shifted as he said that, thinking about the person he cared most about and wondering if she was one of the few willing to do it, because if she was then he wouldn't know if she could ever really be his. He shook the thought from his head and glanced over at a small spark, where a small group of Shadows had appeared. He waved them off with a yawn. "Such a weak breed, I really wonder how they're still around..." He put his hand on the handle of his katana, ready to make a move if they approached.

The neko grinned at the mention of some of the mercenaries being more than a little whorish in nature; for a leader to talk about his own men like that, he was either quite an ass, or someone like Jinzou, who was simply typically easygoing enough to say such things without a care towards the implications. "As far as I know, none of my allies need such things...although I wouldn't be suprised. There's always a new member I've never seen somewhere around, so it's hard to tell." Upon hearing Kai's words about the Shadows, his ears perked up a bit; six of them had gathered. With a slight smile, the crimson-clad warrior raised his right hand, upon which formed a sphere of darkness. A moment later, he was gripping a black katana, and watching the Heartless with a calm smile. "This is hardly fair...shouldn't there be more?"

Kai laughed silently, for as fate would have it - right as Jinzou opened his mouth, a Darkside lumbered out from around the corner of the 6 heartless they were facing. Judging by it's aura, Kai could tell that it wasn't a strong darkside, but it was a darkside none-the-less. He activated Blazing Vulcan, pumping most of his energy into the attack, about two-thirds if he was to try and calculate it.

Chuckling to himself, Jinzou couldn't help but grin as the mercenary took the immediate offensive, targeting not the numerous Shadows, but the Darkside itself. The beast didn't seem too phased by the attack, but it was a rather huge creature...Picking his target, the Neko suddenly dashed forward, tearing the first shadow apart with a simple swing of his sword; the poor thing hadn't stood a chance.

''OH GOD WATCH OUT!''

Without warning, that voice rung out in the field. And bam! A prescence landed on the field with a hard thump, landing on a poor shadow, and bounced onto a second one, before rolling at the Darkside's feet. The shape fumbled, before a cat tail was seen, then flicking cat ears. As the shape rose, the creature made to attack and this is, litterally what they heard.

''OHGODITSGONNAEATMEIMMABEMUSHLIKEINATUBEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!''

The shape twirled around and launched itself away, giving a kick to the creature, diving behind the two men as the cat girl was kind of obvious now. Shaking, she starred at the thing, unnoticing of who she was hiding behind.

The 4 shadow lept towards the closest target, Jinzou because he'd gone charging in to destroy one. They dealt a combined total of 0 damage. The darkside slammed his fist down at Jinzou, dealing a heavy hit that knock him backwards into Kai. Kai pushed the other Neko off of him and activate Kaji Tou (Epsilon), the flames on his blade increasing in brightness as he walked closer to the enemy.

"What the hell..." Grunting, Jinzou climbed to his feet, staggering before he regained his composure. "He hits...hard. Nothing compared to those other little ones, though...no point in killing them. Just have to stop the big bad, then..." More or less assuming that the third neko would prove useful, and trusting the two of them, he ran past Kai, who was slowly advancing. "Don't let this be wasted, you two!" Jumping clear of the shadows, the neko flipped in midair, coming down just below the Darkside. "Spatial Negation!" Stretching his arms out so that they were touching the beast's legs, he laughed loudly, his more battle-loving side coming out as his Space element kicked in, robbing the beast's motions long enough for the others to attack.

Kai jumped as the darkslide slammed his hand at Jinzou again, landing on the fist as it stopped in the air above Jinzou's head. He ran up the arm and thrust his sword into one of the darkside's eyes, dealing 90 damage because of Kaji Tou.

Everything was flying everywhere and Iskra's eyes just started to swirl. Woaaaah, it was so strange! Her eyes starred at the flaming sword, and she knew who's sword that was! The girl stood up and decided to fight, watching them pick on the big scary thing. So her body slinked, as she saw a couple more left. The girl stood right in front of one and whammed it with a punch, before turning to Kai and the stranger. ''Don't worry Kai! I've got it~!'' she said, grinning at him.

"Looks like you mercs might be worth considering, eh?" Chuckling, Jinzou jumped backwards, placing himself behind the massive heartless, which meant he was well outside of its attack range. Taking care to remain behind the beast, the neko gripped his onyx katana in a tight two handed hold, before slashing at the back of the creature's legs; Heartless might not have the weakness of having tendons, but the attack would still hurt.

Damage: 40

The giant heartless roared in pain slamming his fist into the Neko in his shoulder. He accidentally stepped on the shadows as he moved forward, trying to keep away from the others.

Kai landed on the ground and activated Kaji Tou (Epsilon) again, spending the last reserves of his magical energy.

''KAI-SAMA!'' the girl yelled, as suddenly she flew foreward, tackling the thing, her first crashing down upon it with all the strength she could muster. There were tears in the neko's eyes, she was scared that her darling Kai had been hurt and with a savage snarl, leapt away and circled, her ears straight up in the air in anger.

"Calm yourself!" Growling softly under his breath, the neko in the crimson cloak focused his gaze on the female for a moment, all the while knowing it wasn't his place to give an order to a Mercenary. "Getting worked up will solve nothing. Lose your cool, and you'll be the one getting knocked around, instead of your leader. He hasn't fallen, so focus on defeating the foe, rather than blind fury." Exhaling calmly, he jumped up towards the Darkside's back, stabbing deep and dragging his katana free for another 40 damage.

The darkside slammed it's fist into Iskra now, knocking her into a decaying building and watching as she crashed to the ground.

He charged forward, unable to speak because it was hard to breathe after being attacked like that. He slammed his sword into the beast's leg in fury, having watched it swat Iskra into a building. He growled as he jumped back, turning around and running over to Iskra, helping her to her feet. "Iskra, are you okay...?"

Seeing Iskra get hit, and Kai go to make sure she was alright, the neko couldn't help but grit his teeth; it was thoughtful to make sure she hadn't been gravely injured, but now the two were close together. Given the sheer scale of the beast's fist alone, it seemed fairly likely that it would be able to hit them both in a single blow. Dashing under the beast's legs once more, Jinzou came to a stop in between the Darkside and the other two nekos, smiling softly even as it raised its massive fist to strike at the closest target. His eyes seemed to shimmer slightly as his Spatial Negation technique was brought into play; the moment the beast attacked, he would shield the others, freezing the creature in place...which would of course allow them to defeat it.

The words of the other neko hadn't done anything. The girl had still foolishly gone ahead, as she struck, but she was wide open. And beyond her physical finess, the creature struck. The first drove into her side, as she gave out a pathetic mewl, flying towards one of the buildings near by. With a loud, cracking crunch, she hit the building and fell onto the ground. For the first time in her life, Iskra felt a new emotion.. pain. But she was unable to vocalize it, as her body laid still, the world turning a fuzzy black. Then his hands were there, helping her up, soft hands she knew. Kai. She concentrated on him, her eyes slowly coming back into focus, as she gave out a weeping breath. ''Gomen ne, Kai-sama..I was stupid.. I'm fine.'' she said softly, before straightening. She had to be strong for Kai-sama, as her body flew, charging, as another punch sailed towards the creature, but she backed away this time after her strike, amazed at the ability of the other neko. This was shaping to be rather.. interesting to say the least.

The heartless roared and pounded it's fist towards Jinzou again, the fist stopping right above his head because of his protection spell. Kai jumped onto the fist, but this time he ran only halfway up the arm, thrusting his sword upward so it impaled the heartless in his chin. The darkside roared in pain then suddenly it just burst into a smoke, vanishing as fast as it had come, in it's wake small little orbs fell onto the three nekos, somehow restoring their HP and SP completely.

Catching one of the orbs, Jinzou smiled softly as he felt the pain and weariness the battle had brought draining away. "That wasn't too bad," he stated, chuckling as he let his blade fade away; the darkness seeped back into his body, leaving not a trace. "I've seen the worth of the mercenaries, at least. I'll definitly have to keep your offer in mind." Fully noticing the third neko for the first time outside of battle. "Jinzou Kitai, pleased to meet you." He bowed slightly, curious as to where the hell she had shown up from, mid-battle.
