Kimiko is the result of a rough childhood. Raised in a traditional Japanese fishing village, she grew up knowing very little of war. That all changed however on her 9th birthday, when a rogue band of soldiers ransacked her village, killing everyone in sight. Her parents did their best to hide Kimiko and her brother. Kimiko managed to stay hidden. Her brother, however, was not so lucky. The soldiers found him as well as their parents. From her hiding place, Kimiko could only watch in terror and disbelief as the soldiers executed her brother before their parents eyes, only to then rape her mother before killing them both. Hiding until nightfall, Kimiko at once left her hiding place and attempted to naively wake up her family. Realizing that they were dead, she spent the remaining hours of the night wailing. As dawn approached, Kimiko eventually wandered away from the village aimlessly, having no real direction or destination. For the next 9 years, she lived as a petty thief on the streets of Tokyo, stealing money and food to survive. On the day of her 18th birthday, Kimiko vowed to find the ones responsible for the attack on her village. That day, she went to enlist in the JGSDF, Japan's armed forces. The officials literally laughed in her face, telling her it was not her place to go to war, but rather to tend the home. Infuriated, Kimiko returned to Japan only to return a year later under the guise of a young male soldier. Quickly becoming a skilled combatant, she quickly moved up the ranks to achieve the status of Captain. Her ruse was finally discovered however, but by this time she had caught the eye of a secret organization, one that specialized in creating weapons of war. Quickly saving her from execution, the organization, under the name of Legion X, took her into its ranks. There, she continued to hone her skills, becoming a master of Gun Kata, the art of precognitive gun fighting. It was soon clear to the leading bodies of Legion X that Kimiko would be their greatest weapon yet. They then proposed the idea of genetic enchancement, saying she could become a living weapon. Kimiko adamantly declined, stating that she preferred to achieve her goals through her own strength. Refusing to be denied, they sent Kimiko on a false mission, which turned out to be an ambush. Badly injured, Kimiko was returned to the Legion X labs where they proceeded with their experiments. After several months of testing and experimentation, Kimiko, known to them as Experiment #53427, was once again set into the field, this time with a team of others like her. The Legion X officials watched with delight as their engineered weapon mercilessly carried out her task, exhibiting a ferocity even her fellow teammates felt discomforting. It was this, coupled with the terrible shriek she would utter at the start of her mission, that earned her the nickname "Banshee of war." Kimiko's submissiveness to Legion X was short-lived however, as a mysterious gun fighter matched her in battle during a mission then later revealed her abilities' unnatural origin. Rather than risk Kimiko returning and killing them, Legion X went into hiding. Now Kimiko has called off her search for the soldiers who destroyed her village and murdered her family, all of which are long dead, but now searches for the mysterious gun fighter and Legion X.
